Statement of Privacy Policy
General De Jesus College is committed to the protection of the privacy of its data subjects from whom it
collects personal data in the pursuit of its legitimate interests and responsibilities as an educational
institution, in a manner consistent with the Data Privacy Act of 2012 and its Implementing Rules and
Regulations. GJC recognizes the confidentiality of personal data under its custody and adheres to the
general principles of transparency, legitimate purpose, and proportionality in its data processing.
This notice provides information on what personal data is gathered by GJC about its guests and visitors;
how it will use and process this; how it will keep this secure; and how it will dispose of it when it is no
longer needed.
In this Notice, we use the terms “personal data” and “data subject.” Personal data includes personal
information, sensitive personal information, and privileged information. Data subject refers to an
individual whose personal, sensitive personal, or privileged information is processed.
Collection, Usage and Sharing of Personal Data
GJC collects basic information about you by asking you to sign our official log book, and may, at times,
also require you to present a proof of identification. Upon entry to the school premises, GJC is legally
obligated to ask you to fill out a health declaration form which collects personal data such as, but not
limited to, your name, address, contact details, date and time of visit, body temperature, and medical
and travel history. For those with vehicles, GJC takes note of your vehicle plate number and asks you to
deposit your driver’s license or any other valid ID. Video footage is also being recorded via a CCTV
system installed within the school premises.
GJC primarily collects these data as security and health measures. These data also help us investigate
reported violations of school policies and other applicable laws, and generate statistics useful for
planning and service improvement purposes.
We do not share personal data of guests and visitors with other persons or organizations, unless
required or permitted by law.
Storage and Retention of Personal Data
Your data are kept in a place inside the school where at least one security personnel is on-duty 24/7.
Only authorized school and security personnel have access to them. We dispose of the log books two (2)
years from the date of collection, unless required by law to retain them for a longer period. Health
declaration forms are securely disposed of after a retention period of one (1) week. CCTV footages, on
the other hand, are stored for thirty (30) days before being automatically deleted.
Rights of the Data Subject
GJC recognizes your rights with respect to your personal data, as provided by the Data Protection Act of
2012.
Changes to this Privacy Policy
GJC reserves the right to modify our Privacy Policy at any time at our sole discretion, and shall publish
notice of any such modification on our website. Any modification is effective immediately upon posting.
If you have any Data Privacy queries or concerns as it relates to your visit to our school premises, you
