OBJECTIVE OF THE BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION PROGRAM

The College of Business Administration is committed to educate and to develop its students for them to become competent businessmen, leaders and executives so that they can contribute positively to the educational, economic, social, environmental and cultural growth and development of our country.

The objective of the Business Administration Program is not simply to impact basic knowledge, but to instill and nurture important qualities, skills and values in our students that are essential for future organizational success. It is designed to develop critical thinking, problem-solving, interpersonal, communication, quantitative and computer skills needed by graduates to successfully serve as leaders in business organizations.

Specifically, graduates of the business administration program should be able to:

  1. Convey and effectively communicate ideas orally and in writing using both English and Filipino;
  2. Articulate and discuss the developments in business and economic environment of our country
    and support its national thrust and socio-economic indicators;
  3. Conduct environmental scanning, feasibility study and other business research or plan;
  4. Develop leadership capabilities and management skills;
  5. Develop the ability to access, retrieve and process information using computer technology;
  6. Perform quality work by applying basic and the current practices and principles in business
    management;
  7. Work effectively and independently in multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural teams;
  8. Practice the values of fairness, transparency, accountability, hard work, honesty, patience,
    diligence, innovativeness and risk taking in dealings with all personal and business activities; and
  9. Preserve and promote “Filipino historical and cultural heritage,” so that they can demonstrate
    responsible citizenship and pride of being a Filipino.

The Graduates/Learners have the ability to:

A. COMMON TO ALL PROGRAMS

    1. Articulate and discuss the latest developments in the specific field of practice;
    2. Effectively communicate in English and Filipino, both orally and in writing;
    3. Work effectively and collaboratively with a substantial degree of independence in
      multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural teams;
    4. Act in recognition of professional, social, and ethical responsibility, and
    5. Preserve and promote “Filipino and cultural heritage”.

B. COMMON TO BUSINESS AND MANAGEMENT DISCIPLINE

    1. Describe the basic function of management such as planning, organizing, leading and controlling;
    2. Identify and describe the basic concepts that underlie each of the functional areas of business (marketing, finance, human resource management, production and operations management, information technology and strategic management) and
      employ these concepts in various business situations;
    3. Select the proper decision-making tools to critically, analytically and creatively solve problems and drive results;
    4. Express clearly and communicate effectively with stakeholders both in oral and written forms;
    5. Apply information and communication technology (ICT) skills as required by the business environment
    6. Work effectively with other stakeholders and manage conflict in the workplace;
    7. Organize and lead groups to plan and implement business related activities.
    8. Demonstrate corporate citizenship and social responsibility; and
    9. Exercise high personal moral and ethical standards.

C. BACHELOR OF SCIENCE IN BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION

A graduate of BS in Business Administration should be able to:

    1. Analyze the business environment for strategic direction.
    2. Prepare operational plans
    3. Innovate business ideas based on emerging industry
    4. Manage a strategic business unit for economic sustainability
    5. Conduct business research
