General de Jesus College (GJC) celebrated Arts, Social Sciences, and Humanities (ASSH) Week 2026 from October 26–29, 2026, as part of its Social Science Month celebration. Led by Social Sciences Department Head Mr. John Carlo Mendoza, the week-long event featured declamation, logo-making, a freedom wall, yell competition, festive-themed booths, and an advocacy video competition that showcased students’ creativity, talents, and social awareness.

The celebration culminated on October 29 at the GJC Quadrangle, where ASSH sections operated festive-themed booths, followed by the yell competition and awarding ceremony. The activities provided opportunities for students to strengthen their communication, critical thinking, collaboration, and leadership skills while promoting camaraderie, self-expression, and meaningful connections between classroom learning and real-world experiences.

Supporting the GJC HEART Framework and the SDGs

The initiative reflected GJC’s HEART Framework, particularly Holistic Human Development through Access, Inclusion, and Community Engagement; Excellence in Instruction, Student Services, and Research; and Transformative Leadership and Teamwork. It also supported SDG 4: Quality Education and SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities by encouraging inclusive participation, creative expression, and appreciation of diverse perspectives.
